The beef in our meat boxes is hung for up to four weeks to enhance the flavour and tenderness
Our home-bred Dexter cross Devon Ruby Red cattle graze all spring, summer and autumn on land under Higher Level Stewardship - a scheme to promote wildlife-friendly farming. In the winter, the cattle are supplemented with home-grown feeds allowing them to be reared in a stress-free, traditional manner.
The Dexter is the smallest of the native British breeds with a wonderfully distinctive texture and flavour. We cross this with the Devon Ruby Red breed, which produces the same rich Dexter taste.
All beef is hung for two to four weeks to enhance its flavour and tenderness. It is then cut and vacuum packed ready to use or freeze, making it ideal for busy families. Our beef is available in value meat boxes, or cut to order, into all types of joints, succulent steaks, lean mince, or burgers.
It has won Champion Product at the Taste of the West Awards along with numerous gold and silver awards in the annual Taste of the West Awards, star ratings in the Great Taste Awards, and golds at the Food Drink Devon Awards.
Beef cuts beautifully, with flavour oozing taste from field to plate; grass, sunshine happy cattle.
The juiciest cut of beef we’ve tested in a long time. Clean tasting, sweet meat. We loved the steak, marbled throughout. We could almost taste the Devonshire grass.
